Over terror funding case, Punjab Court grants bail to British National - TNBCLive

On Thursday, the Punjab Court has granted bail to a British national, accused in a terror funding case.

The court in Punjab’s Faridkot granted bail as the state police have failed to complete its investigation into the allegations against Jagtar Singh Johal and another person, named Taljit Singh and submitted its charge sheet within the stipulated period of 3 months.

In November 2017, 32-years-old Jagtar Singh Johal was detained by the Punjab Police followed allegation that he was involved in terror funding in Punjab.

The Punjab Police claims that Mr. Johal and others were behind the killing of the Hindu leaders in the state in recent years and offered funds for the same.

Mr. Singh is a resident of Scotland’s Glasgow.

His arrest led to a lot of controversies in the United Kingdom and Canada with several Indian-origin leads demands for his release.

Jagtar Singh Johal got arrested soon after he got married.
