On Friday, Pakistani troops have fired mortars and opened fire along the LoC (Line of Control) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, drawing retaliation from India Army.

PRO Defence said, “At about 0830 hours, Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing with small arms along the LoC in Swajian sector of Poonch.”

He continued, Indian Army is effectively retaliating.

Last Friday, the Pakistani Army has resorted to firing and shelling along the Line Of Control in forwarding area in Digwar Sector, in which over two people have suffered wounds badly.

On Tuesday, the Indian Army has destroyed seven Pak military posts across the LoC in retaliation to the continued ceasefire violation by them.

With Pak using 120 mm mortar bombs and heavy weaponry targeted civilian areas along the LoC in J&K’s Poonch district, locals have been directed to stay inside the home, said officials.
