Today, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Islamabad is sending its envoy back to India and is all set to engage with New Delhi amid to reduce increasing tensions.
For urgent discussions in the wake of a deadly terror attack in Pulwama by JeM, which has left over 40 CRPF jawans dead, Pakistan has immediately called its envoy back to Islamabad. This step was initiated by Islamabad after India called back its envoy Ajay Bisari from Pak to New Delhi.
After the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, IAF has carried out a counter-terror operation as a “non-military, pre-emptive” strike, hits a JeM terrorist training camps in Pakistan’s Balakot, on February 26.
The next day, Pak Air Force has retaliated and downed MiG-21 fighter jets of IAF, while loses Pak F-16 jet of their own. Pakistan has also arrested MiG-21 Pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was sent back to India on Friday.
Pakistan Foreign Minister also thanked US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for a hole in the existing situation with India. He continued that “I did not want to say it but private diplomacy worked.”
“The US through private diplomacy played a role in de-escalating tensions between Pakistan and India,” added Mike Pompeo.
