On Monday, fire and police officials were searching for the cause of an unexpected explosion, which took place in the northern Japanese city of Sapporo that injured 42 people and a building got collapsed.
Media reports that Sunday late night the incident has involved propane gas tanks in the building where the blast took place. Sappore fire and Police officers continued that it was too early to detail about the cause of the dramatic explosion.
Social media post showed flames shooting up into the sky and debris-strewn streets.
A man who lived near the incident spot was quoted saying, “I heard a bang which sounded like thunder, and my condo was shaken.”
One man has suffered facial burns but was out of danger now, reports Sapporo Policeman. However, most of the officials were treated as superficial wounds.
Source reports that two month ago fire inspectors have found that most of the building’s tenants lacked evacuation gear and devices to warn of electrical short circuits.
