Man arrested in Germany accused for Bulgarian Journalist rape and murder case - TNBCLive

In Germany, a Bulgarian convict was arrested and charged with rape and murder case of Television Journalist Viktoria Marinova, reports a Bulgarian official on Wednesday.

The convict has been detained on Tuesday at the plea of Bulgaria, Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said reporters at a meeting attended by Chief Prosecutor Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Sotir Tsatsarov.

Marinov said that the Bulgarian authority was expected the Germany convict to transfer him to their territory.

The dead body of the 30-years old female journalist, who has been raped brutally before she was killed, was discovered on Saturday.

On September 30, she participated in the last TV show. Marinova has introduced two reporters with the charge of investigation suspected having involvement in corruption with EU funds and stated in her own show, ‘Detector’ on a local channel. A similar investigation should also be made.

Her rape and murder have angered many people in Bulgaria, where people are irritated with corruption and inefficient judiciary has been criticized by the European Commission. The convict was recognized as Severin Krasimirov, who is 21-years old.

Chief Prosecutor Tsatsarov said that the conference detail of the news he could not detail at the stage and expected that the murder having linked to the victim’s work as a journalist. The collective proof has been pointed out as a sexual assault and spontaneous attack, he added.

Tsatsarov said that “We have collected a lot of evidence which for the time being suggests that the person is guilty. He has been charged in absence for two crimes – rape and premeditated murder with extreme cruelty.”

He continued, “We cannot state at this point that her murder is linked to her professional activity. We are continuing to work on all possible options.”
