On Friday, the gunman, who killed numerous worshippers in a New Zealand Mosque was a ‘right-wing’ terrorists with citizenship of Australia, said Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
PM Morrison told sources that “we stand here and condemn, absolutely the attack that occurred today by an extremist, right-wing, violent terrorist.”
He confirmed media reports that the gunman has knocked down the worshippers in the main mosque in New Zealand’s southern city of Christchurch was an Australian-born citizen.
PM Morrison further said that the country’s security authorities were probing any connections between the attack and the country, but failed to provide more details about the gunman.
He emotionally offered his sympathies to Kiwis.
“We are not just allies, we are not just partners, we are family,” added the Prime Minister.
New Zealand Police reports that they had arrested one woman and three men after the attacks on two Christchurch mosques but they haven’t provided their identities.
“It is such a sad and devastating reminder of the evil that can be ever present about us,” PM Morrison said of the attacks.
