Just an hour left to US President Donald Trump’s arrival to India and India is all set to welcome him with massive decorations and tight security arrangements. The US President will be arriving in Ahmedabad airport at around 11:30 am with first lady Trump. During his visit, he will be taking part in a roadshow with PM Modi, and both of them will be addressing one lakh people at Sardar Patel Stadium, also known as Motera Stadium. President Trump, along with his wife Melina then will be heading for Agra to see the iconic Taj Mahal.
Trump tweeted in Hindi shortly before his arrival in Ahmedabad for his first official visit to India. “We are eager to visit India. We are on our way, will see you all in a few hours.” This for the first time Trump tweets in Hindi script.
Trump will also be accompanied by daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration. While arriving by Air Force One, Trump, his family and his delegation will be received by PM Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The visit is drawing a comparison between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogans.
Trump and his family will be served high tea, corn samosa, apple pie, Kaju Katli and Gujarati delicacy Khaman during their 15 minutes stay at the Sabarmati Ashram. It is the epicentre of India’s freedom fights where Mahatma Gandhi spent 13 years between 1917 to 1930. They will also take a close look at the historical charkha in the ashram. Modi will gift a “Three Wise Monkeys” replica made of marble to his US counterpart.
More than two lakh people are likely to arrive at the Motera Stadium, which has a maximum capacity of around 1.50 lakh people. As per reports, arrangements have been made for 1.10 lakh people, 10,000 VIPs and over 3,500 VVIPs. Thousands of buses are engaged to carry thousands of people to the place. Large numbers of police have been deployed for crowd management.
