Today, the remainings of Sushma Swaraj will be kept for 3-hours at the party headquarters in Delhi, to pay her last homage by BJP leaders and workers, informed BJP’s working Chief JP Nadda.
On Tuesday, Sushma Swaraj took her last breath at the age of 67 at AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi, after suffering from cardiac arrest, reports the doctors of AIIMS.
A number of Union Ministers and other veteran party leaders also visited AIIMS and met the lamenting family members of her.
A pall of darkness descended at AIIMS with the news of her death, which left everyone in utter shock.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister Smriti Irani , Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, and HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal were among the top party leaders who visited AIIMS.
Mr. Nadda was quoted saying, “Her loss is irreparable and the void left by her can never be filled. It’s a huge loss to the party and the nation.”
Her remainings was later taken to her home in New Delhi.
He further told sources that Ms. Swaraj’s dead body will be kept at BJP Headquarters from 12 PM to 3 PM.
Ravi Shankar Prasad claims that her death news is a personal loss for him.
Mr. Prasad told sources that “We used to address her as ‘didi’ and the respect she commanded was phenomenal. She was fine in the morning and then suddenly we got this news. It is a painful loss for me and for the nation.”
Veteran BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain also lamented the loss, saying Mr. Swaraj had guided him in his career and “she was a leader liked by everyone, from the ruling to the opposition parties.”
Mr. Hussain continued that her contribution in the External Affairs Ministry is notable as she had left a mark in the field.
