Today, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the people of Rajasthan on statehood day.

President Kovind tweets, “My best wishes to the state for a bright, prosperous and peaceful future.”

The Prime Minister tweets his greetings, “Greetings to the people of the state on Rajasthan Day.”

Rajasthan’s newly-elected Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot said that “It is a day to commemorate the valour, strong willpower and sacrifice of the people of Rajasthan. Let us resolve to make our state a haven of happiness, fulfilling aspirations of one and all.”

In India, Rajasthan is the largest state in terms of area and people. The largest state was formed on March 30 in 1949.
