The Prime Minister of India has instructed BJP Parliamentarians to go on a 150 kilometers foot march or “Padyatra” in their individual constituencies to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi 150th birth anniversary or Gandhi Jayanti

On Tuesday, during a meeting of BJP lawmakers, PM Modi has asked everyone to cover around 15 km every day on foot between October 2 to October 31, to mark the birth anniversary of Gandhi ji and Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Prime Minister has further asked the members of Rajya Sabha to take part in foot march and visit constituencies where the party organizations are not that strong, informed  Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has detailed the lawmakers on the recently introduced budget and termed it “visionary”.

“PM told the meeting that whatever we said in our Sankalp Patra (election manifesto) should be reflected in our vision of the future,” added Mr. Joshi.

The 15 km foot march in a day will cover “every booth” and the lawmakers will have the chance to propagate teachings and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi.
