On Monday, detailed preparation is going on for PM Modi’s programme, where he will serve Akshay Patra Meal to underprivileged schoolchildren.
The Prime Minister will also introduce a ceremonial plaque to mark the serving of 3 Billionth Meal at Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir Campus by Akshay Patra Foundation.
ISKCON’s head of strategic communication Naveen Neerada Dasa said that “the Prime Minister will serve food to about 20 schoolchildren from an underprivileged background in the campus, marking the three billionth meal offered by Akshay Patra.”
The programme was funded by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), Akshay Patra is a Bengaluru based non-profit making organization, which works hand-in-hand with the government over mid-day meal schemes. In Vrindavan, it has a state-of-the-art kitchen and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will offer food to children today near the facility.
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and BJP’s Mathura lawmaker Hema Malini will also participate at the event.
Mr. Dasa reported source that “Arrangements have been made for over 10,500 people, including parents, teachers of schoolchildren, our donors and other well-wishers of the foundation, and enclosures have been made for them.”
He continued that PM Modi and CM Adityanath will also address the gathering. PM Modi will pay floral tribute at the Vigraha of Srila Prabhupad, the Acharya of ISKCON, said the Union Government.
This will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “first visit to the Chadrodaya Mandir campus” and will elaborate the arrangements have been made for it, added Mr. Dasa.
In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, the security personnel and police are constantly keeping a tight vigilance, the venue and the main stage have been decorated well.
Seventy mobile toilets, four VIP toilets, and twelve LED screens have been placed at the venue for the event, claims the organizer.
Mr. Dasa further said, “The programme would be streamed live on the Web across all 42 centres of Akshay Patra in the country.”
He also said that “In Gujarat, where we are a partner for the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, all government schools will be hosting the streaming. People will join on the ground and online for the big event.” Silver ‘Patra’, symbol placed in the logo, which will be gifted to PM Modi as a souvenir, added Mr. Dasa.
The programme will remember NGO’s serving of cumulative 3 Billion meals for underprivileged school students since it commenced in 2000.
