Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP Lawmakers to take care of their constituency by playing a leading role in its development and advised them to take up a cause of human sensitivity, include eradication of tuberculosis and leprosy, informed Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. 

PM Modi told lawmakers, a large number of them are first-time lawmakers, at the BJP Parliamentary meeting, asked them to passionately work for the development of their respective areas

The Prime Minister further asked Union Ministers to carry out their Parliamentarian duty, when they are meant to raise in one of the Houses as a representative of the government, and asked him to inform if anyone skips their duty, said the sources.

Mr. Joshi continued that PM Modi told Parliamentarians that they should take up a social cause or a human sensitivity issue as a “mission” besides carrying out their duties as Parliament members. 

He said that PM Modi has also noted that the country has fixed a deadline of 2025 for eliminating TB against the global deadline of 2030 and further asked lawmakers to work for its withdrawal. 

The Prime Minister has further asked them to work with local authorities for the development of their constituency. He referred to aspirational districts, which is an official term for underdeveloped districts and urges the Parliamentarians to coordinate with authorities to strengthen their progress.
