On Friday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi meets Congress Parliamentary Chief Sonia Gandhi to discuss about Parliament Session likely to begin from June 17.

It will be the first session of the newly-elected 17th Lok Sabha, will continue till July 26 and the Budget will be introduced on July 5.

Mr. Joshi visited Ms. Gandhi’s residence is a part of the centre government’s exercise to reach out the opposition parties. The meeting lasted for 15 minutes, reports source.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister has met with opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in Rajya Sabha, and DMK leader T R Baalu in Lok Sabha.

Besides introducing the budget, the newly-elected government has planned to convert 10 new ordinances into law, includes restriction on the practice of triple Talaq.

The previous government has already issued ordinances in February-March 2019.

After the new legislator takes oath on the first 2-days, election for selection of Lok Sabha Speaker is scheduled on June 19. On June 20, President Ram Nath Kovind will address joint sitting of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
