European Union and India have promised to step-up cooperation in effectively dealing with extremism, terrorism, and radicalization.
The issue pointed out importantly during annual counter of political dialogue and terrorism between India and EU (European Union) in Brussels yesterday.
A statement by the EU reads, “The discussions focused on the terrorist threats in Europe, South Asia, and the Middle East. The EU and India underlined the importance of continuing the progress made in defeating Da’esh.”
It stated that both sides agreed to finds effective measures to enhance cooperation to counter violent radicalization, extremism and deal with biological, chemical, nuclear and radiological threats.
The statement continued that “exchanges further touched on tackling the terrorist use of the Internet and countering terrorism financing.”
“Finally, the EU and India had a fruitful exchange on multilateralism, underlining their full support for the United Nations, the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum and other multilateral fora,” added the statement given by the EU.
