Chinese Army Officials confirms their Commanding officer was killed in Ladakh face-off - TNBCLive

India and China held bilateral talks last week over Galwan clashes and China’s army confirmed that a Chinese commanding officer was also killed during the June 15 clash. Today, both the countries held Lieutenant General-level talks at Moldo on the Chinese side of Chushul which was interrupted due to the clashes along LAC. 

This was the worst-ever border confrontation between the Indian and Chinese armies since 1967 which has killed 20 Indian soldiers. As per army sources, 45 Chinese soldiers were killed or injured in the confrontation that took place near Galwan River 15,000 feet high in the Himalayas. Beijing has not given any casualty so fat and has  stated that it doesn’t want any further escalation.

Colonel BL Santosh Babu was among the martyrs. 

Army sources said, seventy-six Indian soldiers were injured and are likely to rejoin the duty within weeks. Chinese troops threw rocks, rods and clubs wrapped in barbed wire towards Indian army who were brutally assaulted.

After three days of negotiations, the ten Indian soldiers detained by the Chinese troops were released.

Since the clash, there have been military talks between the two sides at Galwan to defuse tension. Ten Indian soldiers detained by the Chinese army after the clash were released after three days of negotiations between military commanders of India and China.
