Today, the portals of Badrinath Temple were re-opened for pilgrims after the winter break.

The doors of Badrinath Shrine were open to visitors at 4:15 am in the morning by Chief Priest Ishwari Prasad Nambudiri in the presence of a large number of devotees, tourists, Mandir Samiti, and the Administrative Officials.

The formal opening of the doors of the temple started with an elaborate rituals.

Over 10000 devotees visited the high-altitude temple on the day of re-opening, reports a temple committee official.   

Eminent among those who offered prayers at Badrinath Shrine on the opening day were Governor Baby Rani Maurya and ex- Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
