On Sunday, a “Peace Calendar” was unveiled to send out a message of love and peace with the object to strengthen bilateral ties between India-Pakistan.
Many personnel, including Army veterans, school students and youth has gathered together to release the “peace calendar”. It is an initiative taken by the “Aaghaz-Dosti” organization, which operates to enrich people-to-people relation between the country through its voluntary network of people.
The ‘Peace Calendar” features school students of India and Pakistan’s paintings on the theme of peace. Six excellent paintings from each country got selected for being published in the form of a calendar.
A writer and former assistant of late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sudheendra Kulkarni said to the gathering that the young generation is only the country’s hope.
Mr. Kulkarni recalled how the initiatives such as start of train, bus, and trade services across borders have brought happiness of people and more steps need to be taken.
The executive President of India-Pakistan Soldiers Initiative for Peace, (retired) Major General TK Kaul has talked about how there are veterans in both the nations, who advocates peace.
