Amid the ongoing row between Congress and BJP over HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), the aerospace public sector undertaking will hold a board meeting to discuss the company’s existing financial condition today.

Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi attacks Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for “lying” in the Parliament regarding the orders worth Rs. 1 lakh crore to the PSU.

Ms. Sitharaman told the source that “the initial board meeting was held today with senior management including the Chairman. A Joint Secretary from the department of defence production of Defence Ministry also in attendance.”

During today’s meet, which will consist of presentations on several projects from the concerned departments, details discussed the main meet, organized on January 9, reports an official.

After the several war of words between Mr. Gandhi and Ms. Sitharaman, HAL had defined that it had taken an overdraft of Rs. 962 crore but with the order of 83 light combat aircraft, other products, and 15 light combat helicopters, its financial condition is like to improve.

After the media report, HAL had issued the clarification quoting that its Chairperson has recommended the firm to take credit to pay salaries to its employees.
