On Wednesday, Swedish caller identification app Truecaller has announced that the platform has crossed around 100 million marks in term of daily active users in India.

With its combined services including caller ID, instant messaging, SMS, video calling, and Truecaller Payments, now the platform has more than five lakh premium subscribers and 130 million active users globally, reports the company.

The CEO and Co-founder of Truecaller, Alan Mamedi said that “India is one of our focus markets and we will continue to expand in the Indian market and integrate more services to create a robust unified communication platform that simplifies the lives of our users.”

In India, every tenth active user has linked their bank account to Truecaller Pay and around 60% of its active users happen to be experiencing UPI (Unified Payments Interface) for the first time, claims the company.

Therefore, India has more than 60% of global users of Truecaller.

Last week, objecting to offer secure services to users, Truecaller said that all its Indian user data is hosted in the country only.

In line with the company’s business strategies, Truecaller has doubled the speed in search results for ‘Spam Detection’ and ‘Caller ID’ features within the useful app.

Truecaller has its offices in Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Mumbai and over half of the company’s employees are recruited and placed from India.
