Personal information of millions of Instagram influencers and celebrities stands exposed in a huge database, which has been detected to Mumbai-based social media marketing company Chtrbox, reports TechCrunch.
The database contains 49 million records of numerous high-profile Instagram users, including celebrities, prominent food bloggers, and other social media users were detected to be leaked online.
The report also claims, “Each record contained public data, including bio, profile picture, number of followers they have, location and private contact information,” adding that “Shortly after we reached out, Chtrbox pulled the database offline.”
Security Researcher Anurag Sen has traced the database and immediately informed TechCrunch.
“We traced the database back to Mumbai-based social media marketing firm Chtrbox, which pays influencers to post sponsored content on their accounts,” added the report.
Facebook, which runs Instagram, informed that it is look after and investigating the matter.
