MS Dhoni has requested to get trained for two months with the Territorial Army Battalion of the Parachute Regiment has been permitted by the Army Chief General Bipin Rawat. The former captain of an Indian cricket team has held the rank of Honorary Lt. Colonel in the Territorial Army a part of his training is likely to take place in Kashmir Valley. It has also been detailed that the army won’t allow MS Dhoni to play an active part in the operation.

He has taken a sabbatical from cricket for two months. 

According to sources, MS Dhoni will undergo training with the security personnel and live like any other soldier. His battalion, which is headquartered in Bengaluru is at present posted in Kashmir Valley. 

Dhoni became a qualified paratrooper in 2015, after completed five parachute training jumps from Indian Army aircraft at the training camp in Agra. 

There has been much conversation over his retirement after the country was knocked out of the Cricket World Cup. 

On Sunday, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) Chairman of Selectors MSK Prasad has defined that MS Dhoni is not hanging up his boost yet. However, Rishabh Pant has been incorporated as the first choice keeper for the squads named for the several series in the West Indies.  

Sources said that he is likely to turn up for Indian in T20 – South Africa Vs New Zealand in February 2020, even play the next years’ IPL.
