On Tuesday at Wankhede Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers kept their grip over the IPL match with their outstanding bowling, in spite of providing a low score chase to the Mumbai Indians (MI).
The Hyderabad team scored just 118, which was quite easy to chase down by the team Mumbai. However, SRH bowlers managed to pull out a thrilling win by 31 runs against host team Mumbai Indians.
During MI batting session, the early pressure on the batsmen was exerted by bowler Sandeep Sharma, whereas Siddharth Kaul and Rashid Khan succeed in strangulating the lower order. Thus, sending team Mumbai back to the pavilion with humiliating loss of 31 runs.
So far, things are not going right for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2018 as the team has been defeated in 5 out of 6 games.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, had scored really low during their batting session, hence, their main focus was to win the match with the help of bowling and getting MI wickets.
During the beginning of the 13th over, 57 runs were required by the Mumbai Indians off 48 balls and the game was in balanced condition for both the teams.
It was a phase when the hosts needed few big hits to score runs in order to gain control over the visitors, whereas the Sunrisers needed to hunt down few wickets to build pressure over the MI players.
MI player Kieron Pollard smashed for a 6 but the bowler at the other end was Rashid Khan. Being out of form, the batsman failed to send the ball off the ground but right into the hands of the slip fielder.
In an approach to chasing the SRH score, MI’s plan began to backfire when wicket of top scorer, Suryakumar Yadav, was taken. He returned back to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs while MI being at a total of 77 runs.
Following the dismissal of Yadav, team Mumbai’s hoped were dashed as the wickets started to fall one after the other. Skipper Rohit Sharma also failed to do much for the team and partnership between Pandya and Yadav didn’t materialized for long.
The hosts lost all of their wickets in 18.5 overs and scoring only 87 runs.
SRH bowlers really did a good job in snatching the win from Mumbai Indians starting with the damage spell of 3-0-9-1 by Sandeep Sharma.
