On Tuesday, Australia has unveiled the 12-man squad for the second Ashes Test starting August 14 at Lord’s. Fast Bowler James Pattinson, who performed outstandingly by taking 2 wickets in the Ashes Opener, has been excluded while Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc are in contention for a place in the starting line-up. However, he had miserably failed to take up any wicket in the second innings as Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins combined to take all wickets in second innings of England, helped visitors go 1-0 in the 5 match service with a 251 runs victory.

While speaking on the evening of the Lord’s Test, Tim Paine has assured to manage the workload of their 5 to 6 bowlers to keep then fresh and fit for their tour and as a tenure of “next three or four years.”

The Australian Skipper was quoted saying, “We want to make sure the five or six bowlers we’ve got here have the next three or four years bowling as a group together.”

Paine continued, “there will be some management as part of that at some stage.”

Former Australian Fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has said that he would pick Mitchell Starc over James Pattison.

Johnson was quoted saying, “I’d go for Starc and probably have Pattinson out.”

He continued, “As much as I want to see (Josh) Hazlewood go well you can’t drop Sidds,” adding that “he’s been really useful and especially on the slope I think he’d be very good and he just backed up (off-spinner Nathan) Lyon really well.”

“And (Pat) Cummins is in his own little world, just leave him be,” said the former Fast Bowler.

Johnson also said that “it’s hard  to change a winning side but I’d like to see Starc still come charging in.”

Team Prepared For Second Ashes Test-

Cameron Bancroft, Travis Head, Steve Smith,  Peter Siddle, David Warner, Tim Paine (capt, wk), Usman Khawaja, Matthew Wade, Mitch Starc, Nathan Lyon, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood.
