Chinese sperm bank gets political with donors - TNBCLive

A Beijing based sperm bank has set up very stringent criteria for prospective donors that include a condition that they should be loyal to ruling Communist Party of China. The state-run Peking University Third Hospital mentioned in a post on its Wechat account that they have been looking for contributions from men having primarily “good political mindset” and also “a love for socialism and the motherland” that must also be loyal to their works along with being “supportive of the leadership of the Party”

Such a post was however edited on Friday where the references to the party was removed but it carried on with the message of saying that men of age bracket of 20-45 having “orthodox manners”, “good character” and no political disputes or infectious diseases were encouraged for registering in order to donate their sperm by 23 rd May.

Each donor is entitled to a payment of up to 5500 yuan or $870 in cash for their contribution as per the post.AT present China is having one of the lowest birth rates in the world and has become a big problem for the government, as a result, they dropped their decades-old one-child policy in 2015.
