On Tuesday, a TMC leader was killed by some migrants in East Midnapore District of West Bengal, and three accused have been arrested so far in the case, reports Police.

TMC’s Vice-President of Panchayat Samiti at Pashkura, Kurban Ali Shahar was knocked down from point-blank range at his office by six bike-borne suspects last night, informed a senior police officer.

While leaving the area, they also hurled bombs at locals, said the senior police officer.

A probe has been initiated and three suspects have been detained in having link with the murder case, he said.

TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari has said that “the family members and local people feel BJP is behind the murder as Kurban Ali was a very popular leader in the area.”

Mr. Adhikari further alleged the opponent of threatening local people through the incident.

However, BJP has termed the charges as baseless and politically motivated.

BJP’s District Chief Manas Roy has said that “the allegations against BJP are politically motivated and the killing of Kurban Ali is a result of the factional feud within TMC.”
