On Friday, West Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh has admitted that his party doesn’t have enough candidates in the state, who would help to win seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
He continued, “We have party leaders and workers who are working very hard. We had given them tickets in Panchayat and assembly polls. But in case of fighting Lok Sabha polls, we don’t have enough candidates who can put up a fight and win the elections.”
When enquired whether the resentment was prepared in the party’s ranks for leaders from other parties defeating and stand in BJP tickets, Mr. Ghosh said that “there is no such thing in our party. If someone wants to come and join our party to be part of our development process, how can we stop it.”
The BJP state unit Chief made the comments a day after state-ruling TMC legislator from Bhatpara Arjun Singh joins the BJP.
Recently, several elected representatives from Congress, CPI (M), and TMC have switched over to BJP. BJP National Chief Amit Shah has also set a target to win over 23-seats from Bengal out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in the forthcoming election.
