On Wednesday, BJP Chief Amit Shah will attend the Kumbh in Prayagraj, during which he will take a bath into the holy Sangam and meet several congregations of saints, reads a BJP statement.

At first, the BJP Chief will go to Sangam, which is a holy junction of Ganga and Yamuna River, and offering his prayer there, said the statement issued yesterday.

Mr. Shah will visit various holy places and also meet saints during his one-day visit in Prayagraj.  

His visit assumes significance amid demand by several Hindutva outfits for the government to impose a law for the early construction work of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Mr. Shah has reiterated on multiple occasions, BJP’s commitment to the issue of Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya, which is presently being heard in the Supreme  Court.
