On Wednesday, BSP Chief Mayawati commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s media interview on the New Year Day says that it was uninspiring as he focused only on his party and the government. In a statement of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister says that the interview was of no hope for the new year.

A Dalit leader said that the wrong policies and arrogance of  BJP have not done any good to the country people and it will not do it in future.

She also says, “The BJP still thinks that people are happy with every decision they make and are clapping for them…. Having lost its state governments in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh recently, it is now taking pride by saying that its vote percentage was more or at par with Congress.”

According to her, it is the misconception of the government that people are happy with all their decisions. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister believes that this kind of arrogance may go only after the general elections of 2019. After pointing out that how many NDA allies had broken ranks with the BJP, she says those who stayed with the party have faced humiliations.

BJP has always been unable to fulfill their commitment as they promised to country people to deposit Rs.15 lakh in the bank account for poor people or job creation, she said.

Mayawati also questioned the cabinet decision of the Yogi Adityanath-led state government to levy cess for cow protection. She says that if they are serious about the matter a national law should be created.
