On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad has rejected ex-Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s allegation that the Centre misusing the CBI after it emerged that he may be inquired in an illegal mining case.

In Lucknow, Mr. Yadav said that “I am happy that at least the BJP has shown its colors. Earlier, Congress gave us the chance to meet the CBI. This time it is the BJP which has given us this opportunity.”

While speaking to reporters, Keshav Prasad Maurya said that “there is a lot of difference between the cultures of the BJP and the Congress. Both state and the Union governments were working with full impartiality and transparency.”

Mr. Maurya further said that it is impossible for political parties to not be examined prior to elections.
