Former Justice of Calcutta and Madras High Court CS Karnan will be contesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi Lok Sabha Constituency reports the retired judge.
The 63-year-old CS Karnan told sources, “I have decided to contest in Varanasi constituency against Modi. I am now in Varanasi doing the preliminary work for the filing of my nomination.”
The retired judge has already filed his nomination for Central Chennai Lok Sabha seat and Varanasi will be his second constituency, for which he will be contesting.
He has filed his nomination papers as a candidate of ACDP (Anti-corruption Dynamic Party) floated in 2018, by Mr. Karnan.
CS Karnan was the first sitting judge to be accused of contempt of court. He has undergone 6-month imprisonment after his retirement in June 2017.
