On Thursday, five people have lost their lives and 18 others were severely injured after three vehicles met with an unexpected accident in Mirzapur Ajigawan village on Lucknow-Agra Expressway, said police.

The road accident took place at 2 am when a truck, which was carrying pipes has lost its control and hit a divider. As the pipes got scattered over the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, a bus coming ahead overturned and knocked down a car from behind.  

Two children and three women were among those victims, who died on the spot while 18 others were wounded in the accident, said a senior official Ambrish Bhadauria.

The bus that meets with an accident was on its way to Bihar’s Muzaffarpur from Delhi and attempts were to identify the victims’ whereabouts, added Mr. Bhadauria.
