On Sunday, two teenage sisters were found hanging from the tree in Uttar Pradesh. The Police reports that they were thrashed, a day before, by their mother.

The two victim sisters 18-years and 19-years-old were found hanging from a tree in a village in Sambhal district, located 212 km Delhi.

The victim’s family members report that the sisters had gone out of their home on Saturday. After they were scolded by their mother when they returned back home, said the policeman. However, at night they went missing.

A police officer said that “We’re being told they were thrashed by their mother for not giving fodder to their cattle. The bodies were sent for autopsy.”

In October 2018, a 15-years-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. The police said that she was accused beaten to death. The girl was found hanging with shawl or dupatta tied around her neck.

In 2014, two teenage girls were accused of gang-raped and later found hanged from a tree in western UP’s Badaun. The incident arose massive outrage both in the nation and foreign country, even forced the UN to react.
