Chennai (News Service): On Monday, Truck which carried sand rammed into the median and turned turtle near Sriperumbudur two killed and eight injured. The dead bodies were identified as Sriram and Elumalai. Sriram was driving the truck and Elumalai was seated on the sand that truck was carrying. As per Police sources When the truck reached Manur village, Sriram lost control of the truck while negotiating a turn then hit a median and overturned. The truck fell into the pit and the truck driver was getting stuck under the truck. The driver was dead on the spot as people were unable to rescue him.
“They tried to pull him out but in vain, as he was trapped in between the steering and seat,” said an investigating officer. Five others who fell into the pit were rescued and sent to the Sriperambadur hospital, and two others said to be stable condition. People who were critically injured were referred to the Government hospital in Tiruvallur and Elumalai succumbed to injuries. A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered and investigation will remain on to find more details about the accident.
