Officials said that today in Jharkhand at least five Maoists have been killed in an encounter with the help of security forces. The Maoists was carrying with them  Two AK-47 rifles, a .303 rifle, and five pistols which police has recovered from them.

The Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), which is a special jungle warfare unit of the CRPF, has been established in the state for anti-Maoist operations.

A team of CRPF’s 209 CoBRA battalion and state police had their firing with Maoists. The two sides clashed near Jharkhand’s Rotkatoli village along the border of Khunti and West Singhbhum districts around 6:20 am reports said.

One Maoist has been critically injured while five Maoists have been killed by the parliamentary commandos. No one has been harmed in the armed forces and searching operation is also going on the site. According to the sources, the identification of the killed and injured Maoists is going on.
