On Tuesday, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackery has asked the Prime Minister to deal with Pakistan in such a blow that nothing remains of it to mess with India.
While addressing an election rally in Maharashtra’s Ausa with PM Modi, which is their first since Sena and BJP has announced their alliance for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, he also praised the BJP manifesto.
Mr. Thackeray claims that the promises made in the party’s manifesto were the main reason the two political parties have joined forces before the elections.
In the BJP manifesto launch, the ruling party has reiterated its commitment towards the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and cancellation of Article 370 of the Constitution. It has also introduced a welfare scheme for poor farmers if it comes to power.
“Our government today doesn’t just talk about teaching Pakistan a lesson,” added the Sena Chief.
Mr. Thackery continued, “Pradhan Mantri ji, our only expectation from you now is that deal Pakistan such a blow that nothing of it remains to mess (with India) again.”
He further attacked the Congress for accusing that the BJP manifesto has repeated the NDA Government’s major poll promises of 2014.
Mr. Thackeray replied at the opposition saying that it was Congress manifesto, which is filled with lies.
He also criticizes the Congress NYAY scheme, which aims to help the poor by ensuring minimum income assurance.
“Rahul (Gandhi) ji, the poverty eradication slogan was given by your grandmother (late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi). Your poverty vanished, but when the poverty of the poor will disappear? We will do it,” added Mr. Thackeray.
PM Modi also called the Sena Chief his “younger brother” and reminded that the Congress has “withdrawn” citizenship of late Bal Thackeray.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale were also present at the joint election rally. BJP-Sena alliance has fielded candidates from Osmanabad and Latur Lok Sabha seats were also present.
