Two Maharashtra Leaders Quit BJP and returns to NCP

On Friday, before the forthcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, a former Maharashtra minister ar ex-MLC (Member of Legislative Council) from Nashik has returned to the NCP (National Congress Party), deserted the center-ruling BJP.

Former MLC Apurva Hiray and ex-minister Prashant Hiray have switched to the NCP from BJP along with several followers in the presence of the NCP National Chief Sharad Pawar.

Maharashtra party Chief Jayanta Palit and a senior party leader Chhagan Bhujbal has also attended the event, which was organized on their party rejoining.

Prashant Hiray said that “Nothing happened in Nashik after the 2014 polls. Hence, (we are) returning to the NCP to serve the people.”
