Central Railway has come out with an interesting idea to ensure the safety in railways. Central Railway has installed a blue light visual indicator just above the entrance of one EMU coach in order to guide the commuters. It will indicate not to board the running train at the last moment.

The indicator flashes when to stop boarding the train before it comes unsafe. It will draw a boundary on the platform which will make it clear to the commuters not to board the train while it is in motion and avoid accidents.

The device will act as a psychological barrier from boarding the moving train and also as a deterrent to the people.

Under the guidance of DK Sharma, the General Manager of Central Railway, the work of installing the blue light visual indicator was completed in Kurla car-shed of Central Railway.

The performance of the new blue light indicator will be recorded by the Central Railway. The Railway is looking forward to the feedback of the commuters and the outcome. Officials said that if the action proves to be positive then a decision would be taken on the installation of visual indicators on more coaches and rakes of Mumbai suburban locals.
