A 38-years-old pregnant woman lost her life due to excessive bleeding at the time of her 10th pregnancy in Maharashtra’s Beed district, reports a police officer on Monday.

On Saturday, Meera Ekhande had delivered a stillborn boy at the civil hospital in Majalgaon town of Beed, which is situated around 380 km away from Mumbai, and later lost her life, added the Police officer.

Mrs. Ekhande used to run a pan shop in Majalgaon, is mother of seven daughters but her family wanted a boy child from her, informed the official.

Earlier, she had terminated two pregnancies and this time she has conceived again under her in-law’s pressure.

The official informed that “Mrs. Ekhande was admitted on Saturday to the civil hospital where she delivered a stillborn child and then died of excessive bleeding.”

“We have registered an accidental death report and handed over the woman’s body to her family members,” he added.

One of the seven daughters of her had also died due to illness.
