Bengaluru: National Institutes of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) has alleged that the question paper was a leak of the June 3 staff nurse examination and demand a CBI investigation into it. The examination was conducted to fill 160 posts. The association has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for health and welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda for an unbiased inquiry.

According to Association President AG Nagaraja, the online examination was held at several centers across the country, including Bengaluru. The association claimed a set of was leaked and distributes through WhatsApp a day before the exam. On June 5, the association wrote to the NIMHANS Director demanding CBI investigation. However, an internal inquiry committee was formed, indicating it would be conducted without assistance from Police or the institute’s vigilance officer.

The results were already declared on 7 July despite demand for an investigation. The candidates who got selected has been asked to appear for the skill test in Bengaluru.

On the other side, Director of NIMHANS Dr. BN Gangadhar rubbished the allegations and said “ there are no grounds for these claims. This exam is conducted online with strict monitoring. It is an All – India- Level exam, with less than 10% success rate. There is no reservation for any state,”. He also claimed preliminary inquiry found that the questions were made public after the exam by candidates themselves, and not before the test.

There is a 12 post recruitment open for the ST category and Fifteen of the 16 candidates shortlisted under the ST category are from Meena Community who found in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Asked about the objection to Meena Community members domination the ST candidates list. The Director Dr. BN Gangadhar said that “The examination was held in all fair possible. We looked into the selection process when objections were raised which, incidentally, have been put forth by the employees association and not candidates who applied for the exam Besides, Meena community member are coming up in all fields.”
