A devastating fire broke out in the panty of a running train in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, late at night. The railway staffs have separated the pantry car, and restricted the fire from spreading to other bogies of the train. No casualties from the incident have been reported yet.
The fire broke out at around 2 am and the reason is not yet known.
The pantry car of Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express got destroyed in the fire. Before separating the other bogies of the train from the pantry, the staffs tried to put out the fire but were not successful.
The Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express was heading from Karnataka capital Bengaluru to Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur.
Trains in the Vizag-Vijayawada sector were also delayed but resumed soon after.
Railway and Police officials are currently at the incident spot, investigating the cause of the fire in the pantry car.
