On Tuesday, Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Junaid Mattu has charged a complaint that he was sexually harassed by one of woman corporator and said that he would file a criminal defamation case against the woman. Not only that the SMC mayor also demands her disqualification.

Junaid Mattu has written to Jammu and Kashmir Governor S P Malik that he wants the disqualification of the woman corporator for leveling “baseless allegations”. Though both have charged complain against each other.

Mr. Mattu said, “I want the whole issue to be investigated. God is the witness that I am clean and I have not done anything wrong. The accusations are baseless and I want the truth to come out.”

The Mayor also said that he has near about 45 corporators in his support and they have written a letter to the governor claiming that they will not continue office until the accused women are not ruled out.

Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran was also accused by the Mayor. The SMC mayor said it was a planned conspiracy against him that the woman was working for the Deputy Mayor and he will not allow them to indulge in corrupt practices.

Previously the woman corporators have charged a complaint against Mr.Mattu of sexual harassment and assault and registered a police complaint against him and his personal assistant.”The mayor has been continuously asking me to come along with him for enjoyment. He has harassed me a number of times and not just once,” she told on Monday to the reporters.

In presence of other corporators the Mayor and his assistant abused her said the woman and also added “I had submitted an estimate for Rs. 25 lakhs for developmental works, but he concealed that estimate and didn’t approve it asking me to accompany him to some place for enjoyment. This is sheer sexual harassment.”
