In a declaration that Congress was back in the saddle, Rajasthan’s newly-elected Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot had pledged not to wear a traditional turban till his party return to power, proudly sported a red bandhej safe today. He was dressed in milky white kurta-pajama with white Nehru jacket, Sachin Pilot also wore a traditional turban while he took an oath of office.

41-years-old leader won Tonk Assembly Constituency in the recently concluded elections, had pledged in 2014 to not wear the turban till Congress returns to power in the state.

Congress had faced defeat in the 2013 Assembly Elections in Rajasthan.

Mr. Pilot had been former Lok Sabha lawmaker from Ajmer and Dausa.

Today, a senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has taken oath in as the Rajasthan Chief Minister, while Mr. pilot took an oath of office as his deputy.

The oath-taking ceremony of Mr. Gehlot and Mr. Pilot was administered by Governor Kalyan Singh in the presence of the Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi and ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Albert Hall in Jaipur.
