India’s fastest indigenously-built train, Vande Bharat Express has completed 1 lakh running kilometres without missing a single tour, reports Railway Officials.

A senior Railway Ministry official said that “Vande Bharat Express, which was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi to Varanasi on February 15, clocked one lakh running kilometres on Wednesday without missing a single trip in the last three months.”

On February 15, the first day, Vande Bharat Express has suffered a breakdown during its return near Kanpur, from Varanasi.

This train started its first commercial run from February 17 and soon will start replacing Shatabdi Express.

This high-speed train has been manufactured in Chennai by the Integral Coach Factory.

Vande Bharat Express comes fitted with the best facilities including high-speed on-board WiFi, touch-free bio-vacuum toilets, GPS-based passenger information, mobile charging points, LED lighting, and climate control system, which will adjust the temperature automatically.   

It is a 16-coach express train with two executive compartments and 52-seats on each and 78-seats on trailer coaches. The executive class coaches is designed with rotating seats to match the train direction.
