Today, Separatist leader Yasin Malik has been arrested under the PSA (Public Safety Act) that can keep him in custody for up to six months without trial, report sources.

An information source claims, “Malik Sahab was informed today that he has been booked under the harsh PSA and would be shifted to Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu district.”

Mr. Malik is the head of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, was taken under preventive custody on February 22 and was deported in Kothibagh Police City in Srinagar.

Under the Public Safety Act, a person in J&K can be kept in custody for a period of six months without any intervention of the judiciary.
