Toyota And Suzuki Agree To Produce Cars Jointly In India

Mumbai, March 29 – World’s leading automobile manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan and famous small car maker Suzuki Motor Corporation of the same country jointly announced to manufacture vehicles on Thursday. Suzuki Motor Corporation has already a larger market share in India than Toyota Motor Corp because it has about 80 percent stake in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Toyota has planned to produce gasoline as well as the gasoline-hybrid version of Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza SUV and Baleno hatchback whereas Suzuki will produce Corolla sedans for Suzuki. A Toyota spokesperson confirmed that the joint production will start in the middle of 2019. Toyota has a very weak presence in Indian car market in comparison to its Japanese counterpart. Toyota has taken this step to strengthen its market share according to the market experts.
