Parliamentarian and Samajwadi Party Leader Dimple Yadav will re-contest from Kannauj Parliamentary seat, will file nomination on April 6.

Mrs. Yadav, the wife of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav, was the first to be elected in 2012 from Kannauj in the by-election.   

She also won seats in 2014 Lok Sabha Polls.

Akhilesh Yadav is contesting the Lok Sabha Elections from Azamgarh Constituency, his father Mulayam Singh Yadav from Mainpuri, brother Akshay Yadav from Firozabad.

In 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Samajwadi Party won 5-seats, is now contesting in April-May General Elections in alliance with BSP and RLD.  

Uttar Pradesh will experience seven rounds of the election, starting from April 11 and conclude on May 19, the vote counting will be held on May 23.
