Soldier shot dead in ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir

On Thursday, an Indian soldier was shot dead as the Pakistan Army employed to “unprovoked” firing on the LoC (Line of Control) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Colonel Rajesh Kalia, a spokesman of Defence Ministry said that the Pakistan Army has raised violence in 2003 ceasefire at 10:45 am in Machil sector.

Pakistani armies mainly used mortar and automatics shells. A civilian house was also damaged in the shelling in Kamalkote area.

He said that “Our troops retaliated effectively and strongly. One of our soldiers was martyred in the Pakistani firing.”

On Wednesday, two soldiers were wounded due to Pakistani firing in Uri sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
