Taking a jibe at Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Smriti Irani sought to know how those who “looted the poor” could take the chance to criticise PM Modi. Ms. Irani further asked how those who involved in ‘corruption’ and ‘filled the coffers of Congress’ target the ‘Pradhan Sevak’?

She made the comments in the backdrop of Mr. Gandhi attack on the Prime Minister over the Rafale fighter jets deal.

In an conceal reference to Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law Robert Vadra (husband of Priyanka Gandhi) accused of possessing properties in London, added Ms. Irani. She further claims, “Those who lived amidst the rich and looted the poor for years.. whose brother-in-law purchases assets in London, have the temerity to cast aspersions on the Prime Minister.”

Smriti Irani has addressed a party meeting in Hindi at Mahabubnagar, which was organised as a part of BJP’s preparations for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the procurement of a batch of 36 Rafale fighter jets after holding talks on April 10, 2015 with French President Francois Hollande in Paris.

However, opposition Congress has alleged centre-ruling NDA government of choosing Reliance Defence over state-run HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.), which is an offset partner to benefit private firm but does not have any experience in aerospace sector.
