Today, Samajwadi Party has declared that it will support Congress to form a new government in Madhya Pradesh. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav made the announcement, which comes within an hour after BSP Chief Mayawati made a similar offer to the Congress for the formation of government in the state.
Mr. Yadav tweets in Hindi, “The SP supports the Congress to form the government in MP.”
Congress was locked in a tantalizing see-saw battle with state-ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh, has now emerged as a single largest party with 114-seats after the counting of vote ended today morning, reports State Election Commission Office.
However, Congress is two short of the simple majority marks 116-seats out of the 230-members assembly seats. Congress wins over BJP was close behind with 109-seats.
In Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections, BSP secured 2-seats and SP won 1-seats while independent bagged at 4-seats.
