Rajasthan Health Minister reports, Zika Virus under control

Rajasthan Health Minister Kalicharan Saraf paid a visit to the Zika-affected areas in Shastri Nagar of Jaipur on Wednesday. He reviewed the initiative that has been taken by the health officials in checking the spread of the virus, named Zika.

While speaking with the source, Minister Saraf said that now the situation in the city is under control. He continued, “There are sufficient medicines available with the department. The samples of those suffering from fever or showing symptoms of Zika virus are being sent to SMS Hospital for further tests. The guidelines of Union Health Ministry are being followed.”

For the visit to Jaipur, he was accompanied by Arun Chaturvedia, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment. Mr. Saraf and Mr. Chaturvedia visited Kanwatiya hospital, where the majority of patients affected by Zika virus are admitted and there they spoke to the medical team to get the report on the disease. The officials were asked to take every necessary step to check the spread of the virus and ways to eliminate it.
